GAME SITUATION DEVELOPMENT CAMP
DAY 1 – Offensive play :
Forwards and D will work together on Break out and Regroups options, then be broken into forward and D groups. D will work on creating offense from the blue line, i.e., wall walks, deception, looking for sticks net-front, finding seams, and back door plays. Forwards will learn zone entries and support of the puck off the rush, i.e., middle drive, triple drive, open ice chips, and behind the net plays.
DAY 2 – Defensive Play:
Forwards and D will be split into groups and work on plays off the rush and download plays. Forwards will learn how to create offense in both areas combining skills they have learned, while D will learn how to play 1vs1, 2vs2, and 3vs2, as well as the importance of positioning and having a good stick, how to contain an offensive player and when to force a play.
DAY 3 – Small area games and game situations
The group will combine all the skills they have mastered on the previous three days of in-game situational play and small area games while recreating gameplay in a controlled environment.
