ON-ICE DEVELOPMENT STRUCTURE:

TUESDAYS - POWER SKATING + SKILL DEVELOPMENT:

Players will work on the critical fundamentals; we must master the fundamentals through correct repetition to form elite habits.

WEDNESDAYS - POSITIONAL DEVELOPMENT: Forwards at one end of the rink and D at the other end, separating the group into smaller working groups. The group will be divided into positional stations. Players will be able to focus developmental time to their specific position.

THURSDAYS - GAME SITUATIONS + COMPETITION: This is a competitive-based practice that will include several battles and competition

drills. We will also use this ice session for high-intensity scrimmages.

DRYLAND TRAINING PROGRAM:

Making it to the next level in hockey often comes down to strength, power, and mass. Players must use the off-season months to develop these critical aspects of their own development. As the off-season progresses into the summer months, athletes need to develop their game's speed, quickness, and explosive power elements. It is very important for all off-season plans to have progression and phases in mind.

In this program, players will have workouts structured into phases to peak them for the start of their training camp, as we believe not all programs should be the same. Players who have specific needs will have them addressed in their own program overview. Developing the athletic qualities off the ice to then transfer onto the ice is the key to this program.

BATTLE + BOXING | U11/U13 SUMMER '23
JULY 17 - JULY 21 | $455 + GST

This camp is for players who want to learn the importance of the word "compete."

Often coaches talk about the word; however, some players do not fully appreciate what it really means. Compete is a word that can truly define a hockey player and is a skill that can be developed, just like skating, shooting, or passing. By the end of the camp, players will learn to understand what it takes to put the work in and always strive to be the “ Heart and Hustle” player of the game.

In this camp, players will work on the following

  • Puck protection

  • Puck separation

  • Committing vs. containing on the D side of the puck

  • Both Stick and body positioning, the importance of having a flat stick and not giving up lanes to the net

  • Initiating contact with the puck possession to create time and space

  • Battle on the boards and open ice angling to take away time and space

  • Small-area games and situational games

  • 1-1 / 2-2 / 3-3 compete drills

Players will leave this camp not only with the knowledge of how to compete both physically and mentally but also the confidence to do it in a game.

Speed / Quickness / Agility camp

Do you want to get faster?

Do you need to develop your first three steps?

On the ice, IHD coaches will retool and develop the technical elements of speed and focus purely on building speed and power.

Off the ice, players will be pushed and coached by one of the most dynamic and explosive athletes in CFLs history. Manny prides himself on developing speed in his athletes; he will focus on footwork, quickness, and speed. This program enables defensemen to target the imperative skills of the game specific to playing defense.

Too often, D cannot work on the parts of their game that they need to.

IHD D camp starts with defense-specific critical skating components and works on the following essentials:

  • Backward quick starts and acceleration

  • Backward stride

  • Pivots and transition

  • Lateral mobility and agility

Once players establish an exceptional skating foundation, we advance the program into position-specific skills:

  • Gap Control

  • Angling

  • Defending 1-1

  • Defending 2-1

  • Break out pass variations

  • Point shots

  • Battle drills

DRYLAND TRAINING

Dryland training sessions will be age-specific to push and challenge the players to get faster, quicker, and more explosive. The dryland portion of the program will incorporate bodyweight and partner exercises. The players will work on conditioning, coordination, core strength, and balance in a FUN and challenging.

COMPLETE HOCKEY CAMP | U11/U13 SUMMER '23
August 14 - 18 | $455 + GST

THIS PROGRAM IS FOR PLAYERS LOOKING FOR THE ULTIMATE IN PLAYER DEVELOPMENT AND ENCOMPASSES THE FOLLOWING:

Technical Skating Development:

No pucks, only skating! We will teach the foundation of all skating mechanics, posture, and

balance, including the essential tools and movements that players need to master.

Positional Development:

Forwards are at one end of the rink, and D at the other end. Separating the group into smaller

working groups enable players to target the critical aspects of their unique game.

Puck Skill and Scoring:

We break the ice into stations and target specific puck skills and create a productive environment for

learning and teaching.

Explosive Skating:

Ice is broken into a circuit training environment; within this training platform, players use a variety of

training tools such as:

• Parachutes

• Harnesses

• Medicine balls

• Bungee cord

Battle + Compete:

Compete is a word that can truly define a hockey player but is a skill as much as an effort level. Players

work in an intense learning environment where they will compete with each other bringing together everything that they have learned in this camp.
